I'm Samuel Williams, a software engineer and open-source maintainer based in New Zealand. I work on concurrency, networking, and web infrastructure for Ruby, with an emphasis on predictable behaviour, performance, and interfaces that fit naturally into existing Ruby programs.

I maintain the Socketry ecosystem. Its core projects include Async, a composable framework for asynchronous Ruby, and Falcon, a high-performance web server built on that foundation. Related work includes Async::HTTP, IO::Event, and the protocol libraries that support modern HTTP and DNS clients and servers.

I also contribute to Ruby itself, including the Fiber Scheduler interface that enables existing I/O operations to cooperate with event loops. My broader open-source work, developer tools, experiments, and educational projects live under ioquatix.
